Watsi :: 2017
Watsi develops smart technology that helps healthcare systems – hospitals and clinics – run more efficiently.
Chase grew up in Marin, California. He studied global socioeconomics and politics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduating, he took off for Haiti to help people get healthcare. He then joined the Peace Corps in Costa Rica, working to get people access to financial services. Those years in global health and microfinance catapulted him toward starting his own organization, Watsi: They built a platform to help people afford critical health services. Now, they’re adapting the model to fix broken health systems by collecting good data, ensuring the right reporting, and dropping the cost of administration.
