Why We Invest

Thanks to overfishing and climate change, tropical reefs are near collapse. When reefs die, people’s livelihoods crash with them. With the right support, coastal communities can protect their own marine areas while improving livelihoods. OneReef supports local leaders and connects them with state-of-the-art science, data tools, and financing to manage their own reefs, in their own way. This is a highly replicable model that taps into existing demand from communities and aligns with the national interests of small Pacific nations.
