Frost Methane

Big Idea:

Methane is responsible for 20% of global warming and is 28x more potent than CO2. Frost Methane aspires to find and mitigate methane leaks in the permafrost. They invented a device to flare leaks to reduce methane emissions, a contributor to climate change.

Olya is a brilliant software engineer and technologist. She uses technology to mitigate climate change, mostly by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Before co-founding Frost Methane Labs, she worked with Zola Electric on village mini-grids in Sub Saharan Africa, prototyped a variety of efficiency and electric grid technologies at Google Energy & Google X, and lectured on computer science at the University of Toronto.
