Meat Naturally

Big Idea:

Almost half of Africa is covered in grasslands grazed by pastoralists and nearly all of these lands are degraded -- a devastating state for the people and wildlife that depend on them. Meat Naturally creates agreements that give African pastoralists access to better meat markets and prices in exchange for good grazing management. Their approach has restored these degraded ecosystems in South Africa, and they are poised to scale it across Southern Africa.

Sarah uses business to speed up global biodiversity conservation. She has worked in Indonesia, the Philippines, Madagascar and Ghana. For 10+ years she directed Conservation International's South Africa program. The program became the independent NGO, Conservation South Africa.
