Kate Horner

International Rivers

Big Idea:

International Rivers protects rivers and the communities that depend on them. They’re best known for successful campaigns to block harmful dams and infrastructure. Now they are going beyond dams to the establishment of legal protection to keep key rivers free-flowing and healthy.

Prior to taking on freshwater systems in 2016, Kate focused on international climate and forest policy. She brings an exceptional track record protecting the environment and upholding communities’ rights to International Rivers. Most recently, she was Director of Forest Programs for the Environmental Investigation Agency and a policy analyst at Friends of the Earth
