‍Avery is a Partner and joined Mulago in 2022.

Before Mulago, she built her social entrepreneur chops as CEO of Bridges to Prosperity. During her tenure, the organization connected over 1.4M people while working with governments in 20 countries. She was selected as a 2019 Rainer Fellow.

Her investment experience started as Managing Director of the Oxford Seed Fund, an early-stage venture fund which also led due diligence for the Skoll Venture Awards. More recently, she worked in a small private equity office focused on acquisitions in renewable energy, construction, and manufacturing industries. She has experience with private sector ($2B+), B-Corps, academic and nonprofit boards.

Avery received an MBA from the University of Oxford, and a MSc. from the University of Colorado. She earned a BA in studio art and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa, while playing soccer. Outside her day job, you can find her in the mountains with her dogs or playing pickup basketball (poorly).
