Mulago Foundation | Alex Hughes-Smith

Alex Hughes-Smith — Executive Manager

Alex joined Mulago in 2017 as Executive Assistant to Kevin and is now the lead on communications. He has managed the hustle and bustle of Manhattan restaurants and navigated the everyday challenges of a primary school teacher in rural Gambia, where he was a Peace Corps volunteer. After teaching in schools in the UK, US, India, and Palestine, and a quick sidestep into fashion photography, he completed his MA at UC Berkeley and University College London with a focus on impact evaluation of education programs. When he’s not working on our comms and making sure things happen in Kevin’s life, he can be found with his head stuck in a good book or playing football (it’s football, not soccer, never soccer).
