Barefoot Law

Big Idea:

Legal services are out of reach for those that need them most. Many issues in East Africa are related to land ownership, inheritance, and family disputes; too often they are handled through mob justice, or no justice at all. Barefoot Law protects the rights of Ugandans by providing free legal services to resolve disputes — increasingly through efficient virtual means. Every month they help 650,000+ people to understand their rights and resolve 1,000+ legal matters too.

Gerald is an attorney and social entrepreneur from Uganda. He is an Echoing Green Fellow, a Laureate of the African Development Prize by the King Baudouin Foundation, a Legal Rebel by the American Bar Association and DRK grantee. Gerald graduated top of his class at Kampala University.
