A lot of learning has to happen before and alongside school for kids to reach their potential. Ubongo (“brain” in Kiswahili) uses cartoons, beloved characters, and stories to bring high-impact learning through TV and radio programming to kids in Africa. Like Sesame Street, kids across the socioeconomic spectrum watch for fun and learn for free.

Nisha is a social entrepreneur with a passion for education and a background in media and science. Before founding Ubongo, Nisha produced content for the BBC, The Guardian, London Science Museum, and an award winning documentary, Twiga Stars. She also worked as Content Maestro at Fuse School, a cloud-based video learning platform with over 20M views.
