Roughly half of 2nd graders in Africa can’t read a sentence or solve a one-digit addition problem. Ubongo develops locally-relevant "edutainment" content focused on school readiness, school performance, and life skills for African kids aged 3-14. They distribute their content through broadcast partners (TV, radio, and online) and social organizations to reach kids in the last mile. Their content won’t replace more formal education, but it’s a strong complement at a nominal annual cost.
